Spa & Gel Pedicures
A proper pedicure, not a rushed one — soak, exfoliation, callus work, cuticle care, massage, and polish that actually lasts. Free parking at 124 N. State St.
Every pedicure at Charming Beauty starts the same way: a warm soak long enough to soften the skin properly, not a 90-second dip. From there Kate works through exfoliation, callus treatment, nail shaping, and cuticle care before anything gets painted.
The part most clients notice is the foot and lower-leg massage — it is included in every pedicure, not sold as an upgrade. Then polish: regular lacquer for a classic finish, or gel if you want colour that survives sandals, work boots, and the lake.
Pedicures pair naturally with a gel manicure in the same visit, which is how most clients driving in from Vassar, Millington, and Cass City book it. One trip, both services, done.
Pick by how long you want it to last and how much time you have
About 45 minutes
Warm soak, exfoliation, callus treatment, nail shaping, cuticle care, foot and lower-leg massage, finished with regular polish. The standard maintenance appointment.
About 60 minutes
Everything in the classic pedicure, finished with gel colour instead of lacquer. Cures hard under the lamp, so there is no drying time and no smudging on the drive home.
About 75 minutes
A longer soak, extended callus and heel work, a sugar scrub, and a longer massage. Book this one if it has been a while, or if you want the appointment to feel like an hour off.
About 90 minutes
A gel manicure and a pedicure booked back to back in one visit. The most efficient option if you are driving in from out of town.
What makes a pedicure worth the appointment
Gel pedicure colour routinely holds four to six weeks without chipping — through sandals, pools, lake weekends, and work shoes.
Heels and pressure points get proper attention, not a token pass. This is the difference clients mention most after their first visit.
Nails cut and shaped correctly, cuticles tidied, calluses reduced — your feet feel better in shoes, not just better in photos.
Every pedicure includes a foot and lower-leg massage. It is part of the service, not an upsell.
Stack a pedicure with a gel manicure or a lash fill so the drive from Vassar, Reese, or Cass City covers everything at once.
Weddings, graduations, prom, vacations, Sugar Festival weekend — book a week ahead and the colour will still look fresh on the day.
What happens from the moment you sit down
You settle in for a warm soak while Kate talks through what you want — length, shape, colour, and whether anything has been bothering you. Long enough to actually soften the skin.
Nails are trimmed and shaped to the length you asked for, then cuticles are softened and gently tidied. No aggressive cutting.
A scrub takes off dead skin, then callus work focuses on heels, balls of the feet, and any pressure points. This is the step that determines how your feet feel next week.
A foot and lower-leg massage with lotion. Included in every pedicure — longer in the deluxe.
Regular lacquer or gel, applied in thin even coats. Gel cures under the lamp so you can put your shoes straight back on and go.
Not sure which one suits you? Say so when you arrive and Kate will recommend based on your nails and your schedule.
Simple aftercare that adds weeks to a pedicure
Heels and the sides of the big toe dry out fastest. A minute of lotion each night keeps calluses from rebuilding between appointments.
If you are getting regular polish, sandals or flip-flops mean you are not undoing the finish on the way to the car. Gel does not need this.
Peeling gel takes nail layers with it. If it starts to lift, come in and have it removed properly.
Four to six weeks is the sweet spot for most clients — often enough that nail growth and callus buildup never get ahead of you.

Walk-ins are welcome whenever we have availability — it is always worth calling (989) 673-4699 before you drive in, especially if you are coming from out of town. Booking online is the only way to guarantee a specific time, and it matters most for lash sets and full nail sets, which need a longer block.
Most clients come every four to six weeks. That is roughly how long it takes for nail growth and callus buildup to become noticeable again. If you are on your feet all day or wearing closed work boots, closer to four weeks tends to work better; in winter, some clients stretch it to six or eight.
Gel colour on toes typically holds four to six weeks without chipping — longer than on fingers, because toenails grow more slowly and take less abuse. Most clients book their next appointment based on nail growth rather than on the colour failing.
The service itself — soak, exfoliation, callus treatment, shaping, cuticle care, and massage — is the same. The difference is the finish. A spa pedicure ends with regular lacquer, which dries in the air and can be changed at home. A gel pedicure ends with gel colour cured under a lamp, which lasts far longer but needs to be removed properly.
Yes, and it is one of the most common bookings here — especially for clients driving in from Vassar, Reese, Millington, or Cass City. Allow around 90 minutes for both. Mention it when you book so the time is set aside.
Yes. Callus treatment is part of every pedicure, and the deluxe pedicure includes extended heel work. Badly cracked heels usually improve noticeably over two or three appointments combined with daily moisturising at home. If a crack is deep, painful, or bleeding, see a doctor first — that is outside what a salon should be treating.
No. Do not shave your legs the same morning if you can avoid it, and skip picking at your own calluses beforehand. Come as you are — the rest is the point of the appointment.
