Smooth, Not Sore
Brow, lip, facial and body waxing with high-quality wax and a gentle hand. Book on its own, or add it to a nail or lash appointment.
Waxing is quick, and most people judge it entirely on two things: how much it hurt and how long it lasted. Both come down to technique and wax quality rather than anything mysterious — the wax is applied at the right temperature, in the right direction, and removed in one clean motion.
Because hair is removed from the root rather than cut at the surface, regrowth takes three to five weeks instead of days, and it comes back softer and finer over time. Shaving cannot do that.
Most waxing here happens as an add-on. A brow wax takes fifteen minutes and slots neatly into a nail appointment or a lash fill, which is why clients driving in from out of town usually stack them.
Booked alone or added to a nail, lash, or brow appointment
About 15 minutes
Shaping to suit your bone structure and features, not a stencil. The most-booked waxing service here, and a natural pairing with a brow tint or lamination.
About 10–15 minutes
Quick, precise upper lip and chin waxing. Often added on at the end of another appointment with no extra visit needed.
About 30 minutes
Brows, lip, chin, cheeks and sides. Leaves skin noticeably smoother and makeup sitting better for weeks afterwards.
Varies by area
Underarm, arm, leg and other body areas. Ask about the specific area when you book so the right amount of time is set aside.
What changes when hair comes out at the root
Regrowth takes weeks rather than a day or two. One appointment covers most of a month.
Repeated waxing weakens the follicle over time. Hair grows back softer and sparser than it was, which is the opposite of what shaving does.
Wax lifts dead surface skin along with the hair. Skin is smoother immediately, and makeup sits better on a freshly waxed face.
There is no blunt cut end, so no rough regrowth phase and no shadow between appointments.
A brow wax is fifteen minutes. Lip and chin is barely more. Most clients add it to an appointment they were already coming in for.
Brow waxing here is shaping first. The goal is brows that suit your face, not the thinnest possible line.
Straightforward, and over quickly
For brows, Kate maps the shape against your features before any wax goes on — where the arch should sit, how much to take from underneath, what to leave alone. For other areas, she checks the hair length and skin condition.
The area is cleansed and prepped so the wax grips hair rather than skin. This step is what makes the difference between uncomfortable and fine.
Wax is applied in the direction of growth and removed against it, in sections, with the skin held taut. Held skin is the single biggest factor in how much it stings.
Strays outside the shape are tweezed individually. On brows this is where the shape is actually finished.
A calming product goes on to settle redness. Most facial redness fades within an hour or two.
If you are not sure whether something on this list applies to you, mention it when you book. It is a two-minute conversation and it saves a wasted appointment.
The first 24 to 48 hours
No hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or hot tubs for 24 hours. Open follicles and heat are what cause most post-wax irritation.
Freshly waxed skin burns more easily. Keep the area covered or out of direct sun for a day or two, and skip the tanning bed.
Avoid makeup, heavy moisturisers, and anything fragranced on a freshly waxed face for the rest of the day. Something simple and unscented is fine.
Gentle exfoliation two or three days later, then a couple of times a week, is the best defence against ingrown hairs before your next appointment.

Your questions answered
Walk-ins are welcome whenever we have availability — it is always worth calling (989) 673-4699 before you drive in, especially if you are coming from out of town. Booking online is the only way to guarantee a specific time, and it matters most for lash sets and full nail sets, which need a longer block.
About a quarter of an inch — roughly two to three weeks of growth after shaving. Shorter than that and the wax cannot grip properly, which means patchy results and a wasted appointment. If you are not sure, come in anyway and Kate will tell you honestly whether it is ready.
Three to five weeks for most people, depending on your growth cycle and the area. Brows tend to be at the shorter end, body areas at the longer end. Keeping a consistent schedule gradually stretches the interval, because regrowth gets finer.
There is a sharp moment, and then it is over. Facial waxing is quicker and milder than most people expect — a brow wax is a few seconds of sensation. It is more noticeable the first time and gets easier with repeat appointments. Avoid caffeine beforehand and do not book during the few days before your period if you are sensitive.
Tell us before you book. Retinoids, Accutane, and some prescription acne treatments thin the skin, and waxing over them can lift skin along with hair. Depending on the product and how long you have used it, waxing may need to wait — this is worth a phone call rather than a surprise on the day.
Both remove hair from the root and both last a similar length of time. Waxing is faster and leaves skin smoother because it lifts dead surface skin too. Threading is more precise on very fine hair and is often preferred by people who cannot wax for medical reasons. Charming Beauty does brow waxing; the shaping is what matters more than the method.
Yes, and most clients do. A brow wax adds about fifteen minutes to a visit. Mention it when you book so the time is allocated rather than squeezed in at the end.
Exfoliate gently from about three days after your appointment and keep it up two or three times a week. Avoid tight clothing over freshly waxed body areas for a day. Do not shave between appointments — shaving creates the blunt tip that gets trapped under the skin in the first place.
